The 17-U Illinois Wolves feature a roster loaded with talent, and are headlined by Wisconsin-bound Diamond Taylor and Illinois-bound Joseph Bertrand. They will open the season at the loaded Double Pump Spring Basketball Classic later this month in Colorado.

The Wolves will be a very athletic, and fast team with Taylor, Bertrand, 6-1 point guard Dyricus Simms-Edwards (Washington) and 6-2 Brian Conway (Bloom). 6-4 Derek Tartt (Fenwick) and 6-3 Chris Parrish (Riverside-Brookfield) will both be returning to the team. Both have been accepted to New Hampshire-based prep school powerhouse Brewster Academy. Tartt is currently visiting the campus.

6-5 sharpshooter David Bryant (Batavia) and 6-6 Conrad Krutwig (Jacobs) provide even more talent and experience. 6-9 Zeke Schneider (Metamora) and 6-8 Nick Washburn (Mahomet-Seymour) bring great size inside. Kameron Norton (Downers Grove North) and Tim Traversa (Chicago St. Patrick) give the Wolves a pair of versatile players who can both be plugged into multiple positions on the floor. 5-11 Kevin Muldowney (Lyons Township) will provide added backcourt depth both as a ball-handler, and also as a shooter.

The Wolves rosters is very deep, very talented and very balanced.

Mike Mullins of the Illinois Wolves is pleased with the array of talent featured on his squad, and feels that the team could produce more Division I players than any other Wolves team, which means 11+. Last night, at practice, the Wolves were focused and hungry as they prepared for their April schedule of games.

After competing at the Double Pump Spring Classic in Colorado, the Wolves will then head to Akron, Ohio for the King James Shooting Stars Classic. Two years ago, the Wolves led by Evan Turner (Ohio State), Demetri McCamey (Illinois) and Sam Maniscalco (Bradley), advanced to the Final Four ahead of falling to O.J. Mayo (USC), Bill Walker (Kansas State) and the the D-1 Greyhounds.
