Everybody who is anybody in the state of
Illinois with respect to the spring and summer
traveling team circuit will be in attendance
this weekend at the King James Shooting
Stars Classic in Akron, OH. The
tournament begins on Friday night and runs
through Sunday, with the championship games in
all brackets being played on Sunday afternoon.
The open division, which is the premier division
amongst 17-under competition, is absolutely
stacked with many of the premier traveling teams
from throughout the nation. The first three
pools are particularly worth paying attention
to. In Pool A, the Illinois Warriors
will do battle against both the
Atlanta Celtics and the
Baltimore Stars, with the
Warriors-Celtics matchup being a rematch of the
championship game at last weekend's Real
Deal On The Hill in Arkansas.
Meanwhile, the Illinois Wolves
will face both The Family and
the Carolina Celtics in Pool B,
while the Mac Irvin Fire will
take on the World Wide Renegades Orange
and Team Stat in Pool C. Other
17-under teams from Illinois that are competing
in the open division include Full
Package Athletics, Illinois Elite, Mean Streets,
Rising Stars Gold, Team NLP, the
Illinois Stars and the
Chicago Express.
All in all, it should be a spectacular weekend
of basketball. Illinois Prep
Bulls-eye will once again have the
King James Shooting Stars Classic
covered like a blanket and will provide the most
in-depth, thorough and objective coverage that
you won't get from any other scouting or
