Led by Wayne Simon (Fenwick) and Alex Dragicevich (Glenbrook North), the 16-U Illinois Wolves mounted a gutsy team effort, and advanced all the way to the 16-U championship game before falling to Ohio State-bound J.J. Sullinger, and a loaded All-Ohio Red team.

6-0 point guard Wayne Simon and 6-5 Alex Dragicevich (Glenbrook North) both came up big in the tournament as Jeff Carpenter's Wolves gutted out win after win en route to advancing to the title game.

The Wolves played strong against All-Ohio, and trailed by five points at halftime before running out of gas and falling in the title game. Simon, Dragicevich, Derek Babb (Wheaton Warrenville-South) and Mantis Daubauskas (St. Joseph) were all All-Tourney selections.

The Wolves were able to mount their run to the title game despite losing star point guard DeAndre McCamey (St. Joseph) to injury in the final game of pool play.
