Class of 2009 Chicago St. Patrick star Tim Traversa of the Illinois Wolves has turned a lot of heads, and put himself on the radar screen of a number of schools with his strong play this spring.

Traversa, a 6-3 point guard, combines a powerful frame, with a strong handle and advanced floor vision and passing skills. Traversa was at his best in April at the Double Pump Spring Classic when he stepped up huge for a Wolves team playing shorthanded due to injuries.

Traversa's efforts included a 13-point, 11-assist game after Illinois-bound Joseph Bertrand (Sterling) went down with an injury.

Mike Mullins of the Illinois Wolves feels that Traversa is most overlooked point guard in the midwest largely because this is his first year on the travel team circuit. Mullins projects Traversa, who has a college-ready body at 6-3, 215-pounds, as a Mid-Major Plus prospect.

Traversa has caught the attention of a number of programs including Murray State, Vermont, Loyola and Evansville. Traversa, and his 17-U Illinois Wolves teammates will be in action this weekend at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions in North Carolina.
