The 17-U Illinois Wolves
advanced all the way to the Final Four of the Best Buy Twin Cities
Summer Classic before falling to a tough and physical Net Gain team.
Injuries continued to shadow
the Wolves who played without 6-4 guard Derek Tartt (Brewster Academy)
who received stitches from an eye injury suffered in the Wolves Elite 8
contest. The Wolves were already without starting point guard Dyricus
Simms-Edwards (Washington) who has a stress fracture, and 6-8 Nick
Washburn (Mahomet-Seymour), who has a broken foot.
Against Net Gain, Conrad Krutwig (Jacobs) led the way with 16 points. He
was backed up by 11 points from David Bryant (Batavia) and 10 points
from Illinois-bound Joseph Bertrand (Sterling).
The Wolves advanced to the Final Four after defeating 94 Feet of Game
75-45 in the Elite 8.
