Class of 2010 Neuqua Valley star Rahjan Muhammad enters the high school season with his recruiting stock beginning to take off on the heels of a stellar spring and summer on the travel team circuit with the Illinois Wolves. Muhammad ranks as one of the top 2009 prospects in the state of Illinois.
Muhammad, a 6'0" point guard, excels with his ability to run a team, and his aggressive ball-hawking style on defense. Muhammad is an excellent shooter, with a knack for dropping big shots in clutch situations, and is comfortable playing either guard slot.

Mike Mullins of the Illinois Wolves said, "Rahjan Muhammad is a outstanding shooter off the bounce, as well as off the catch. His ability to play point guard as well as to slide to off guard has fostered great interest at the collegiate level. Rahjan has had a great fall in the gym improving in all areas. Always a terrific 3-point shooter, he has developed a mid-range game created off the bounce which has expanded his game. Rahjan loves to compete, and his toughness guarding the ball sets the tone for our team. Rahjan combines the ability to play at a high level with a swagger that our whole team feeds off of."

This past spring and summer, Muhammad teamed with 6'7" Alex Dragicevich (Glenbrook North), Wayne Simon (St. Joseph), DeAndre McCamey (St. Joseph), 6'7" Rob Wennington (Loyola Academy) and Derek Babb (Wheaton-Warrenville South) on a 16-U Illinois Wolves team that advanced to the title game at the Spiece Run N' Slam, and the Final Four of the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.

Muhammad is starting to see his college recruitment pick up with Illinois-Chicago, Bradley, Valparaiso, Butler, Loyola and Ball State all showing early interest. Muhammad is expected on campus for unofficial visits to both Marquette and Bradley over the course of the next couple of weeks.

This coming high school season, Neuqua Valley will once again be a major factor with Muhammad, and fellow 2010 star Dwayne Evans leading the way.
